If you like to spend your Sunday’s at beautiful waterfront hotels, surrounded by cool cars and rubbing shoulders with world class blues musicians and hot rod builders, then you’re in luck. Sunday, January 14 will see the inaugural Jimmy Shine Classic get underway at the Sandstone Point Hotel, between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

Jimmy Shine needs little introduction to readers of Cruzin magazine, the California-based car builder enjoying the spotlight as a senior fabricator at the SoCal Speed Shop before launching his own shop, Jimmy Shine Workshop in Orange County. He’s made countless trips to Australia where his meticulous approach to car building combined with his party guy persona have earned him a host of friends and fans.

Teaming up with Rod Brewer, Jimmy will launch the event at the end of his ‘Up Close and Personal’ tour with ZZ Top front man, Billy F. Gibbons. Of course, Gibbons will make a guest appearance on the day so he and Jimmy can select their ‘Top 20’ vehicles from the show field. Of course everyone’s invited, so expect amazing cars and bikes, live music, trade stands, plentiful food and great company. Gates open at 8am, show from 9am ‘til 1pm and of course it’s ASRF Sanctioned. Just rock up and enter on the day.

The Jimmy Shine Classic is set to become an annual event, with Jimmy bringing a different special guest each year, so watch this space.

The Sandstone Point Hotel is located at 1800 Bribie Island Road, Sandstone Point, about a one hour cruise from Brisbane CBD.
